Correctional Officer Retirement Plan Deferred Retirement Option

DROP for CORP - A DROP plan, crafted by the Fraternal Order of Police and unanimously passed through the House and Senate has been signed into law by the Governor. The law takes effect 90 days after the legislative session ends.

2006 FOP AgendaTwo 2006 Arizona F.O.P. legislative priorities, CORP; return to work and CORP; reverse deferred retirement plan (DROP), Have been signed into law by the Governor.

Both issues have been incorporated into a DOC bill, HB 2482. The original ADC Return to Work bill, with language similar to our FOP bill, was amended and now also includes the DROP provisions. HB 2482, which allows a retired member of the Corrections Officer Retirement Plan (CORP) to return to work and receive a pension at the same time, also establishes a reverse deferred retirement option (DROP) plan for members of CORP.

The has been signed into law and will take effect 90 days after the end of the legislative session.
